A Truly Global Team at Caley Water
At Caley Water, we like to think our team is as diverse as the projects we work on. While we’re based in Edinburgh and known as one of the local environmental consultancies, our office is anything but local in flavour. Our staff come from all over the world — Scotland, England, Ireland, Belgium, the US, Switzerland, India, China, Myanmar and Kenya. If nothing else, it makes the office lunchtime chat a lot more interesting (and the snack table far more adventurous).
This mix of backgrounds and experiences brings something special to our work. Whether it’s wastewater modelling, drainage design, or tackling tricky environmental challenges, we get the benefit of lots of different perspectives. Sometimes that means a debate about the “right” way to approach a network problem, and sometimes it just means learning how to pronounce each other’s names correctly. Either way, the variety keeps things lively.
We’re also proud to be a place where new talent can get started. Our graduates don’t just sit quietly in the corner; they’re straight into projects and learning on the job, with plenty of support (and the occasional gentle teasing). We offer plenty of graduate opportunities, because we know the future of engineering relies on fresh ideas and curious minds.
This September, while others are winding down from summer holidays, the Caley Water team is busy modelling networks, testing scenarios, and sharing stories from across the globe. It might not always be glamorous, but it’s rewarding work — and when you’ve got colleagues from ten different countries pulling together, there’s usually a laugh or two along the way.
