{"id":518,"date":"2026-07-09T11:29:59","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/caleywater.co.uk\/blog\/?p=518"},"modified":"2026-07-09T11:29:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:29:59","slug":"caley-water-world-cup-excitement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caleywater.co.uk\/blog\/2026\/07\/09\/caley-water-world-cup-excitement\/","title":{"rendered":"Caley Water World Cup Excitement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Things have been getting a little more competitive than usual at Caley Water recently \u2014 and this time it has nothing to do with hydraulic modelling, drainage strategies or flood risk assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World Cup fever has well and truly arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With such a mix of nationalities across the Caley Water team, there has been plenty of good-natured chat, friendly rivalry and confident predictions flying around the office. It has made the tournament even more enjoyable, especially with a few personal connections still very much involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belgium are still in the running, which has given Nico plenty to smile about. Norway are also keeping hopes alive, with Solveig having every reason to stay interested. And, of course, England are still there too, which means Nathan is continuing to believe that this might finally be the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add to the excitement, we have also been running a Caley Water sweepstake. As expected, this has brought out a wide range of expert opinions, questionable football knowledge and bold predictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nico, never short of confidence, is backing France to go all the way. Adam is hoping Spain can finish the job and lift the trophy.
